AI Agents for Restaurants

AI agents for restaurants — handle reservation enquiries, answer menu and opening-hours questions, and qualify catering leads without pulling staff off the floor.

Where the time goes

What restaurants lose to the phone and the inbox

The phone rings hardest during service

Peak call volume lands exactly when every member of staff is on the floor and nobody can reach the phone.

Most calls are the same four questions

Are you open, do you have a table for four tonight, do you have vegetarian options, where can I park.

Dietary questions carry real risk

Allergen questions need accurate answers from your actual menu data, not a confident guess.

Catering and private hire enquiries get lost

The highest-value enquiries arrive by the same phone line as a table for two and are the easiest to lose in the noise.

What we build

AI agent solutions for restaurants

A typical engagement uses two or three of these together. Which ones depend on where your enquiries arrive and what your team is already stretched by.

Reservation handling

Party size, date, time and seating preference are captured, and where a booking system is integrated the agent books directly rather than taking a message.

Menu and dietary answers

The agent answers from your current menu data only. On allergens it states what your menu records and directs anything uncertain to a manager rather than reassuring a guest incorrectly.

Opening hours and location

Hours, holiday changes, parking, accessibility and directions — answered every time, including from a locked phone at 1am.

Catering and private hire qualification

Head count, date, budget range, dietary needs and service style are captured, so your events lead receives a real brief.

Missed-call recovery

Calls that ring out during service trigger a follow-up message, so a table enquiry does not simply become a booking somewhere else.

Large party escalation

Bookings above the size you nominate always go to a person, because they affect the whole service.

Example workflow

Reservation enquiry during peak service

An illustrative scenario showing how the pieces fit together. It is an example, not a client case study — no real engagement or result is being described.

Trigger

A guest calls at 8:05pm on a Friday while the floor is full.

  1. The agent answers instead of the call ringing out at the host stand.

  2. It captures party size of four, tonight, and a preference for an indoor table.

  3. It checks availability against the rules or booking system you have connected.

  4. The only availability tonight is 9:45pm, which the agent offers along with two earlier slots tomorrow.

  5. The guest takes tomorrow at 7:30pm and mentions a nut allergy.

  6. The allergy is recorded on the reservation and flagged to the kitchen in the booking note.

Outcome

The booking is captured and the allergy is on the ticket, without anyone leaving the floor mid-service.

Sample conversation

A scripted illustration. It is not connected to a live model, calendar or business system.

Customer

Do you have a table for four tonight around 8?

AI agent

Let me check. Tonight at 8pm we are fully committed, but I have 9:45pm this evening, or 7:30pm tomorrow. Would either of those work?

Customer

Tomorrow at 7:30 is fine. One of us has a nut allergy — is that okay?

AI agent

I will add the nut allergy to your booking so the kitchen sees it. Our menu marks dishes containing nuts, but for anything prepared alongside them the head chef will confirm on the night.

Customer

Perfect, thank you.

AI agent

Booked — four guests, tomorrow at 7:30pm, nut allergy noted. Can I take a name and mobile number for the reservation?

Questions

Restaurants: what people ask

Sector-specific questions. General questions about implementation are on the FAQ page.

Can the agent be trusted with allergy questions?

It is designed to be conservative here. It reports what your menu data records and escalates anything beyond that to a person. It is built not to reassure a guest about cross-contamination, because that depends on kitchen conditions on the night.

Does it connect to our reservation system?

Where your booking platform offers an integration we can use, yes. Where it does not, the agent captures the reservation request in a structured form for your host team.

What about very large bookings?

You set a threshold. Above it, the agent takes the details and hands the enquiry to a person, because large parties usually need a deposit, a set menu conversation or a floor plan decision.

Can it take orders?

Order taking is possible but is a separate project from reservations, since it needs live menu availability, pricing and payment. We would scope it on its own.

Will guests find it impersonal?

Most guests calling about a table want a fast, accurate answer. The tone is yours to set, and anything requiring hospitality judgement is designed to reach a person.
